Why did you want to enroll in the HTIM business management course?
I wanted to learn as much as possible so I can be a better leader to my agents.

How will this help you step up in your career?
It has given me additional knowledge and certifications that will only help me pursue my goals.
 
What advice do you have for others in the hospitality industry who are looking for ways to grow their career?
I would recommend any of the HTIM courses. I have completed the business management course and the financial lodging course and both were full of great information. Never ever stop learning. 
 
What was your favorite part of the HTIM business management course?
I enjoyed the alcohol ServSafe training. I don't have any plans to go into that side of things, but it was really neat to be able to learn something I have never had any experience with. I also enjoyed being able to have in person and online information so there were many ways to learn and get the information.
 
How long have you been working in the industry?
I have been at my current employer for 2.5 years but I have been doing hospitality or customer service for my entire working career. 23 years now!
 
Can you share more background on your current role?
I am currently a Front Desk Supervisor. I am responsible for the agents that work at the desk. 
 
What was your first job in hospitality? How did you get into this industry?
I started in fast food. I needed a job and they were hiring!

Interesting & fun fact: 
I went to college for Vocal Performance! I enjoyed that time in my life but didn't pursue it as a career. I still enjoy singing and performing in community theatre when I have the time.
