​Why did you want to enroll in the HTIM business management course? I needed to renew my ServSafe food certificate and this was such a great opportunity to get even more than just that! I also attended the class with our company manager, so it was also like a bonding moment for us. 

How will this help you step up in your career? 
It will help me create a positive guest experience and better understand the financial aspect of my business.

What advice do you have for others in the hospitality industry who are looking for ways to grow their career? 
To measure, weigh and track everything you use. And to always focus on guest experience! 

What was your favorite part of the HTIM business management course? 
I enjoyed learning about the P&L sheets. I had always seen them sent to us by our bookkeeper, but never fully understood how to read them. I don't know everything about them, but I have a better understanding of what I'm looking at now.

How long have you been working in the industry? 
I’ve been in the industry for 18 years.

Can you share more background on your current role? 
I worked in the restaurant industry, eventually becoming a manager from 2008-2021. My husband started our business in 2018, and I joined the company about eight months into the business opening. I am in a management/operator position in our coffee business.

What was your first job in hospitality? How did you get into this industry? 
My first job in the industry was at a pizza shop where I worked a variety of positions for 13 years including cooking, front of house and management.

Interesting & fun fact: 
My favorite food is soup! And my favorite drink is black hot coffee!
