This course helped me step up by giving me the knowledge to know more, help my team more, and move further along in my career. What advice do you have for others in the hospitality industry who are looking for ways to grow their career? If I could give any advice to others in the hospitality industry looking to grow their career, it would be to not take any opportunities for granted and always have an open mind to be willing to learn and go farther. What was your favorite part of the HTIM four-week financial course? My favorite part was participating in the Zoom meeting group discussions. These sessions provided valuable insights into how other hotels across Michigan operate and utilize various management tools introduced throughout the course. How long have you been working in the industry? I have been in the industry for 3 years and 6 months. Can you share more background on your current role? My current role as operations supervisor is to oversee what is happening in the hotel. I make the schedules, help oversee the housekeeping department, and I work at the front desk. I’m happy to assist my colleagues in any way that I can. What was your first job in hospitality? How did you get into this industry? My first job was as a housekeeper. I got into this industry because I wanting to broaden my work experience in hospitality. I had never worked in hospitality before I started at Staybridge.
