How will this help you step up in your career?
I am currently a chef manager and I would like to move up to a food service director and believe this course will help me reach my goal. What advice do you have for others in the hospitality industry who are looking for ways to grow their career? My advice? Knowledge is power: Learn as much as you can whenever you can. If you work in the back of the house, try and learn different aspects from the front of the house and vice versa. Stay the course, the food service industry is very rewarding. What was your favorite part of the HTIM financial course? What I enjoyed most from the HTIM financial was the educational learning skits throughout the course. How long have you been working in the industry? I have worked in food service for 27 years. Can you share more background on your current role? I have worked for my current company for 11.5 years. I started out as a cook and was promoted to a production supervisor and then promoted again to my current role as a chef manager. I'm also actively learning the food service director role. What was your first job in hospitality? How did you get into this industry? My first role in the industry was as a busser/dish washer, then a hostess and then a server. At that point, I began cross training as a cook and prep cook. Along the way I learned catering. Anything else you’d like to share? This program has been a great learning experience, and I have told so many people about the class! Comments are closed.
