HTIM 12-Week Hospitality Business Management Certificate Course - FAQ
WHEN WILL THE PROGRAM START?
We offer 12-week courses at three different times each year: January, April, or September. Please see the Class dates and locations for our 12-week course section for start weeks and available locations.
WHAT IS THE PERCENTAGE SPLIT BETWEEN ONLINE AND IN-PERSON CLASSES?
Each 12-week course is presented in hybrid format, consisting of 6 weeks of in-person training and 6 weeks of online instruction. In-person sessions are necessary for examination weeks as they need to be proctored in-person.
WHERE WILL THE IN-PERSON COURSES BE HELD
We are currently building locations across Michigan that will be confirmed based on demand for each location. Please view the current Class Schedule for available courses.
WHAT ARE THE DAILY/WEEKLY HOURS REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COURSE?
Each course is a full 12 weeks of hybrid instruction, consisting of 6 weeks of in-person training and 6 weeks of online instruction. There will be 3 hours of class time once a week with assignments outside of class as well.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE A SERVSAFE MANAGER CERTIFICATION*?
Your current ServSafe Manager Certification* can be given to your instructor, and you won't need to retake this exam. Participation in the session covering food safety material will still be required as we explore active managerial control practices and ensure safe food handling practices are incorporated into your organization.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE MY CLASS SESSION/LOCATION AFTER IT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED?
We are working to provide a variety of geographical locations, dates, and times. If you need to adjust your class time or location, please contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible before your start date and we will try to accommodate your request.
HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THE GO LEARN MOBILE APPLICATION TO SIGN UP ON MY MOBILE DEVICE?
The Docebo application is not usable on mobile devices with a screen size less than 8 inches. This applies to most cell phones. To access the platform using your cell phone, you must download the “Go.Learn” app. Through the Go.Learn app, you can easily attend courses and complete training material. You may also apply for the course through Go.Learn, but for the best experience, we recommend submitting your application on a laptop or tablet.
The Go.Learn mobile app is available for both iOS (including iPads) and Android devices. You can download the app by searching for “Go.Learn” in the Apple Store or Google Play Store, or by going to the appropriate link below.

To access the app, tap on the app’s icon to launch it. In the text box labeled Platform URL, type in https://learn.htim.com. Then, tap Proceed to Login Page.
Click on the APPLY button at the bottom of the screen if you do not already have a Username and Password.
If you do already have a Username, insert your Username and Password, then sign in by tapping the SIGN IN button. You may tap on Keep Me Logged In if you want the app to automatically log you in when you launch the app on your device in the future.

I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN OR ENROLLED IN THE HTIM 12-WEEK COURSE. HOW DO I ENROLL IN MORE CLASSES?
Students who already have an account with us through the HTIM 12-week course may enroll in either financial management course by logging into their existing account on learn.htim.com and filling out the 4-Week Financial Management Program Interest Form. Filling out this form means you will be enrolled into the course of your choice on April 7, 2025.
After April 2025, you will have access to the Course Catalog menu, allowing you to self-enroll in any future courses offered by HTIM. Course Catalog is a new feature being utilized by the Hospitality Training Institute of Michigan to allow students to select and enroll themselves directly into asynchronous, fully-online course offerings.
Note: Do Not attempt to register for one of the 4-week courses through our registration page if you already have an account with us for the 12-week program. You will be unable to create another account. Email [email protected] with any questions.

HTIM 4-Week Financial Management Courses - FAQ
When do the 4-WEEK courses start?
Rolling enrollment for the 4-week financial management courses begins April 7, 2025. You may apply before this date, and we will automatically enroll you on April 7. After you are enrolled, you may complete the course at your own pace.
How long do I have to complete my course?
Although the course is designed to be completed in 4 weeks, students are allowed a total of 60 days to complete the course if necessary. After 60 days, you will no longer be able to access course content or complete the lessons.
What is the difference between the lodging and restaurant versions of this course?
The two versions of the course have different assignments that cater to their respective industries. Please see the Course Curriculum section for more details.
How is course content delivered?
Course content is delivered through self-paced methods such as educational videos, slides, and assignments. All content is presented on the learn.htim.com platform.
What is the incentive for completing my course?
In addition to the certifications students receive for completing either of our financial management courses, graduates who complete all course requirements will also receive a $100 completion bonus.
CAN I TAKE BOTH THE RESTAURANT AND LODGING FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT COURSES?
Yes, the curriculum is different enough that students are eligible to take both courses. However, we advise students not to take both courses at the same time. Students will have the opportunity to take the second course after completing their first.
